Southeast Asia Artifact

Over the last decade, ties between Taiwan and the countries of Southeast Asia have grown closer than ever before. There has been a steady increase in the number of Taiwanese visiting Southeast Asia and a similarly steady increase in the number of Southeast Asian “new immigrants” coming to live in Taiwan, either to work or as spouses of Taiwan citizens. The aspects of their own culture and ways of life that the people from Southeast Asia have brought with them to Taiwan have helped to enrich and transform Taiwan society.

A total of 266 cultural artifacts, including foods, items of clothing, and items relating to housing, transportation, entertainment and religious beliefs are on display. The museum hopes that both “new immigrants” and Taiwan citizens will gain an enhanced understanding of each other’s cultural background and ways of life by visiting the exhibition.

This artifact showed how Philippines culture has expanded and how they are cultural diverse. They culture is mixed with other cultures.
